Message patients on WhatsApp
Some patients just don’t text — but they answer on WhatsApp. Teamio can message patients on WhatsApp right alongside SMS, from the same Patient Conversations inbox and the same practice phone number you already text from. There’s no separate app and no separate inbox to watch.
- One thread per patient. A patient’s WhatsApp messages and their texts land in the same conversation, in order. Your team keeps one history per patient, whichever channel they used.
- Great for patients who prefer WhatsApp — including international and travelling patients who use it as their main messaging app.
- Same credits you already have. A WhatsApp message uses a flat 1 credit, drawn from the same credit balance as your texts — nothing new to set up or pay for separately.

How it works day to day
Section titled “How it works day to day”When WhatsApp is on, a Reply via selector appears at the top of each conversation with SMS and WhatsApp buttons. Teamio pre-selects whichever channel the patient last used, and you can switch per message — see Replying to patients on WhatsApp. SMS keeps working exactly as before; WhatsApp is an addition, never a replacement.
Appointment reminders can also go out over WhatsApp, with the same reply-to-confirm your text reminders use — that part is set up by Teamio per practice, so ask us if you’d like it.
