Finding a patient
The fastest way to pull up a patient anywhere in Teamio is the Search Patients box in the top-right of the header. It searches your whole practice, so you don’t have to be on a particular page first.
Search for a patient
Section titled “Search for a patient”- Select the Search Patients box in the top-right of the header.
- Start typing the patient’s name. A dropdown of suggestions appears as you type.
- Each suggestion shows the patient’s name and date of birth, so you can tell apart two people with the same name.
- Select the right patient. Teamio opens straight to that patient’s profile — ready to text them, take a payment, or log a follow-up.
Just added a patient in Open Dental?
Section titled “Just added a patient in Open Dental?”Next to the Search Patients box is a small refresh icon. If you’ve just created a patient in Open Dental and they aren’t turning up in search yet, select the refresh icon — its tooltip explains that it syncs patients added today, so brand-new records become searchable right away.
Tips & common questions
Section titled “Tips & common questions”- “My new patient isn’t in search.” Use the refresh icon beside the search box to sync patients added today, then search again.
- “Two patients have the same name.” Use the date of birth shown next to each suggestion to pick the right one.
- Searching opens the profile. Selecting a result navigates you to that patient — it doesn’t add them to a list.
