Troubleshooting: a recurring task didn't appear
A repeating task that “didn’t show up” is almost always one of the cases below — most of them are Teamio working correctly.
1. Check the view, not the task
Section titled “1. Check the view, not the task”The most common cause is a filter. On My Tasks, select Clear Filters, then turn on Show repeating tasks only in the Filter tasks… dropdown (or sort by the Repeats column). Still not sure? Use the Search tasks and comments… box with the task’s name — it searches task text and comments.
2. Was the next instance skipped?
Section titled “2. Was the next instance skipped?”Deleting a repeating task offers two choices. Yes - All instances ends the whole series. Yes - Delete next instance only skips just the upcoming occurrence — and that’s a very common “where did it go?” If someone skipped the next instance, the one after it will still arrive on schedule; you’re simply missing the one that was skipped on purpose.
3. Was the series ended?
Section titled “3. Was the series ended?”If the recurring task was deleted with Yes - All instances, the series is over and no new instances will appear. Re-create the task with the recurrence you want.
4. Check the cadence
Section titled “4. Check the cadence”Bi-Weekly means every two weeks — on the off week, no task is the correct behavior. Monthly and Yearly tasks likewise only appear on their scheduled day. Daily tasks set to Exclude Saturday or Exclude Sunday won’t appear on the excluded days — also correct behavior.
5. Timing of the overnight job
Section titled “5. Timing of the overnight job”When you complete an instance due today or later, Teamio creates the next one immediately. The overnight job (run in your practice’s timezone) only rolls forward instances that were left incomplete yesterday. So:
- If yesterday’s instance was completed early or deleted, the next one may already exist — look under Show repeating tasks only.
- Very early in the morning, an incomplete-yesterday instance may not have been rolled forward yet. Refresh and check again.
6. Duplicate protection
Section titled “6. Duplicate protection”Teamio won’t create a second copy if a matching instance already exists. The match is on content + due date + creator + repeat settings (frequency and day choices) — not on assignees. So an instance that looks “missing” may already be there under a slightly different filter view.
Still missing? Note the task name, its recurrence setting, and the date, and contact support.
