Editing a form with AI

Open any form in the builder and describe a change in plain English — “remove the insurance section,” “add an emergency contact,” “make Date of Birth required.” Teamio shows you a clear preview of exactly what will change, and nothing happens until you click Apply.

Where: open a form in the builder (Create or Edit a form) → Edit with AI in the top bar

The form builder header with the Edit with AI button next to Save.

Click Edit with AI and type what you want to change. You can ask for several things at once:

Remove the insurance section, add an emergency contact name and phone, and make Date of Birth required.

Click Propose changes.

Teamio shows a summary grouped so you can see at a glance what it’s about to do:

  • Added — new fields and sections.
  • Removed — fields or sections it will take out.
  • Changed — fields it will update (e.g. now required).
  • Heads up — anything worth a second look (see below).

The Edit with AI preview listing Added, Removed, Changed, and Heads up items.

Nothing has changed yet. Click Apply changes to apply them to the form, or Discard to throw them away and try a different instruction.

Applying the changes updates the form in the builder — it’s still not saved. Review it, make any manual tweaks, and click Save when you’re ready.

Editing with AI is designed so an AI change can never quietly break a form you built by hand:

  • Your existing fields stay put. Fields you didn’t ask to change keep their settings, their required rules, and their Open Dental mappings exactly as they were. Already-collected patient submissions stay linked to the right fields.
  • Conditional logic is kept consistent. If a field’s visibility depends on another field (e.g. “show smoking details only when Smokes = Yes”), Teamio updates those links automatically when you rename a field — and warns you if a change would affect them.
  • It changed more than I expected. That’s exactly why the preview exists — read it, and Discard if it’s not right. A removal can sensibly cascade (removing a question may also remove a follow-up field that only existed for it).
  • I want to start a brand-new form instead. Use Creating a form with AI.
  • Can I undo after applying? Applied changes live in the builder but aren’t saved until you click Save — so if something’s off, leave without saving, or reload the form to get the last saved version back.
