Troubleshooting: Microsoft sign-in spins or times out

If you click Sign in with Microsoft, the Microsoft window opens, you sign in — and then it just spins for about a minute and Teamio shows “There was an issue with your Microsoft login. Please contact Teamio support”, this page is for you. This is different from the “Need admin approval” prompt and the “application is disabled” outage — both of those show a Microsoft error page, not Teamio’s red banner.

  • You click the Microsoft button and the sign-in window does open (so it’s not a pop-up blocker).
  • You can sign in on the Microsoft side, but the window then hangs and times out rather than returning you to Teamio.
  • It’s most common in Safari, and the same login often works in Chrome on the same computer.

We fixed a Safari-specific timing issue with this on June 16, 2026. The most likely fix is simply to load the latest version of Teamio:

  1. Close all Teamio tabs/windows.
  2. Reopen https://prod.teamio.app and do a hard refresh so you get the update:
    • Mac: hold ⌘ Command + Shift + R
    • Windows: hold Ctrl + Shift + R
  3. Click Sign in with Microsoft again.
  1. Try a different browser. Chrome is the quickest workaround and almost always gets you in right away.
  2. Check you’re using the right button. A Microsoft/Outlook work email uses Sign in with Microsoft; a Gmail/Google Workspace email uses Sign in with Google. Teamio matches you by email either way. See Choosing the right sign-in button.
  3. Allow pop-ups for the Teamio address, then try again.
  4. Still stuck? Contact Teamio support and tell us which browser you’re using and roughly when it started — that tells us immediately whether it’s this issue or something specific to your account.
